We strive for excellence and set high standards while treating each student as a unique individual with their own special needs and style of learning. Our philosophy and approach to teaching is based on the strong belief that all students, regardless of their strengths and weaknesses, are gifts. Whether the student is athletically elite or has delayed motor skills, every person is welcome as we all add something distinctive and valuable to the learning experience. Classes are high energy and challenging with a blend of sweat, fun and shared wisdom.
Martial Arts
The atmosphere of the Tao is one of respect, where all participants are honored and martial arts is practiced in a progressive and safe manner. Psychological and physiological responses to the fight or flight state are discussed in detail. Consequences of techniques, as well as responsibility and accountability, are a primary focus. Students will glean from our classes a greater understanding of how commitment to any activity can have profound and positive effect on one’s life. The goal is to teach the true nature of martial arts, as the art of healing and self-discovery.
